Created in 2008 by BBC News, BBC News School Report gives 11-14 year-old students in the UK the chance to make their own news reports for a real audience. Using lesson plans and materials from the BBC News School Report website, and with support from BBC staff, teachers help students develop their journalistic skills to become School Reporters. Materials include lesson plans by BBC News reporter Huw Edwards and accompanying videos.
MEDEA Awards incorporated in Media & Learning Conference
Since 2010 the MEDEA Awards are incorporated into the annual Media & Learning Conference taking place in November in Brussels. This conference is being organised by ATiT together with the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training, and the European Commission Directorate-General for Education and Culture.
The conference brings together practitioners and policy makers in a two-day event which will highlight the latest developments, services and digital and media competences in education and training. The MEDEA Awards Ceremony will take place during this conference. MEDEA finalists and other best practice entrants will be invited to contribute to the conference, putting on screenings and taking part in discussions. By participating in the conference, you will have the opportunity to meet people from the MEDEA Community in person including participants, judges, and finalists and get to know other MEDEA Entries and creative approaches to integrate media in education.
