The European Chain Reaction is a science/art project and competition which challenges primary schools across Europe to create, film and upload a "Rube-Goldberg/Robert Storm Petersen-like" chain reaction. Through the contest, children learn more about science and computers in a fun way and in the end all submitted chain videos are merged into a big cross-border European chain reaction.
About the MEDEAnet project
From 2012 to 2014, the MEDEA Awards are supported by the Lifelong Programme of the European Commission through the MEDEAnet project.
This 3-year network project will help extend the reach of the MEDEA Awards and Media & Learning Conference and Community. The project will publish yearly country reports on the creation and sharing of knowledge about how media is used to support teaching and learning in different parts of Europe. Free workshops and webinars about media-based learning topics involving MEDEA Awards’ showcases will be organised in all partner countries Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, Germany, Greece and Romania.
This project is funded with support from the European Commission. This publication reflects the views only of the author, and the Commission cannot be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained therein.
